Safe Weight Loss With Semaglutide

Joli Med Spa is excited to be providing a new safe and effective weight loss drug that offers the promise of dramatic weight loss results. Semaglutide is an injection that you take once a week to help the pounds melt away.

What Is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is a powerful appetite suppressant that falls under the category of medications called GLP-1. This class of drugs includes hormones that message your brain to increase your body’s metabolism and help you feel fuller longer. Semaglutide works in your body the same way as naturally occurring GLP-1 hormones.

How It Works

Semaglutide helps you lose weight using several mechanisms that alter your digestive processes and brain activity.

Researchers have found that Semaglutide slows the rate of digestion, leaving more fluid in your stomach after you eat. This gives you the feeling of being full, which reduces your appetite so that you can comfortably stop eating. Semaglutide ultimately results in weight loss due to reduced food intake and appetite.

Another way that Semaglutide can help you lose weight is by signaling an area of the brain called the hypothalamus, which regulates food intake. In turn, your body will take in less food and water, resulting in weight loss.

How is Semaglutide administered?

Semaglutide is an injectable medication. You or your provider can administer the drug using a syringe or pre-filled dosing pin.

The typical injection site is the abdomen using tiny insulin syringes. Other sites that are sometimes used for injections include the upper arm or upper thigh.

Product Safety

Semaglutide has been found to be safe for supervised weight loss. If you should experience any of the following adverse events, contact your provider:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Increasing intake of the medication is the most common reason for adverse events. As a result, it is recommended that patients increase their dose gradually.

Is Semaglutide different from Ozempic and Wegovy?

Unlike the other two medications, your provider uses Semaglutide that is manufactured in a compounding pharmacy. Semaglutide is also much less expensive than Ozempic and Wegovy, which are frequently on back order.

A single vial of Semaglutide can last up to 10-12 weeks, depending upon your dosage.

Can anyone use Semaglutide?

Although most people can safely take Semaglutide, those with the following conditions should not take the product:

  • Thyroid tumors
  • Thyroid cancer
  • Pancreatitis, or history of pancreatitis
  • Uncontrolled diabetes
  • History of thyroid cancer or thyroid tumors

Your Consultation

Before getting started with Semaglutide, you will need to take part in an initial consultation and lab review. Before your consultation, you will be provided with a lab order that must be completed two weeks prior.

It costs $300 for the initial consultation and lab review, in addition to the cost of medication. Since this is an exclusive service, you must leave a non-refundable deposit of $150 to secure your appointment. Deposit will be applied towards the service total.

Rescheduling an appointment due to failure to complete lab orders two weeks prior to your appointment, or not adhering to the late cancellation policy, may result in deposit forfeiture.

Follow-up Appointments

Whenever you are ready for a refill, you must take the initiative to schedule a weight loss follow-up appointment. Visit your provider’s website or contact the office to schedule a follow-up appointment. This allows your Joli Med Spa team to track your weight loss and refill your prescription. The cost of a follow-up appointment is $100 in addition to the cost of your medication.
