Safe Weight Loss With Semaglutide

Joli Med Spa is excited to be providing Semaglutide in Covington and Mandeville, a new safe and effective weight loss drug that offers the promise of dramatic weight loss results. Semaglutide is an injection that you take once a week to help the pounds melt away.

What Is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is a powerful appetite suppressant that falls under the category of medications called GLP-1. This class of drugs includes hormones that message your brain to increase your body’s metabolism and help you feel fuller longer. Semaglutide works in your body the same way as naturally occurring GLP-1 hormones.

How It Works

Semaglutide helps you lose weight using several mechanisms that alter your digestive processes and brain activity.

Researchers have found that Semaglutide slows the rate of digestion, leaving more fluid in your stomach after you eat. This gives you the feeling of being full, which reduces your appetite so that you can comfortably stop eating. Semaglutide ultimately results in weight loss due to reduced food intake and appetite.

Another way that Semaglutide in Covington and Mandeville can help you lose weight is by signaling an area of the brain called the hypothalamus, which regulates food intake. In turn, your body will take in less food and water, resulting in weight loss.

How is Semaglutide administered?

Semaglutide is an injectable medication. You or your provider can administer the drug using a syringe or pre-filled dosing pin.

The typical injection site is the abdomen using tiny insulin syringes. Other sites that are sometimes used for injections include the upper arm or upper thigh.

Product Safety

Semaglutide has been found to be safe for supervised weight loss. If you should experience any of the following adverse events, contact your provider:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Increasing intake of the medication is the most common reason for adverse events. As a result, it is recommended that patients increase their dose gradually.
